A non-work day.
We began the day by snorkeling, taking a dinghy ride under this bridge
to get to the western side of the island.
Although you can’t see any in this photo, a few different businesses line this canal.
Our friends Johanna and Martin from the Swedish s/v Snowbird joined us.
After snorkeling in the morning, we all walked the 3 or so miles to Flamenco Beach.
Here is the airport that we passed while on route.
This is the highest point that we needed to climb to get there. After the relatively long climb, it’s very nice to be able to see our destination, the beach, from the top. Of course, it was still quite a distance away at this point.
Playing in the waves…
About to get smashed by the waves!
I offered to carry Rebecca all the way home. Yeah, right! 🙂
Hey Guys – I love your posts and they add a much desired break from the routine. You do a wonderful job of keeping it real. I really enjoy the nitty gritty of you guys keeping everything working and balancing that with just plain old having fun.
Best Regards from Nebraska!
Hi Jim
Thanks very much!
Body surfing those waves are so much fun 🙂 but some can really smack you about LOL We tried reading the Swedish couples blog ” but stuffed” no interpreter , how long they been out etc ?
& Those 2 videos of the crossing are ok, the seas looked a little “confused ” & bouncy but we take it , it wasn’t like that all the time. Keep the blogs coming they are a great read at 7 am while i have my coffee 🙂 Thanks
I was flipped end over end several times in those waves. Scary!
Jo and Martin are newbies too. This is their first year out. They purchased the boat in the US. Coincidentally they have the same boat that another couple we met have:
