From Soggy to Bubbly
Yesterday Rebecca and I got a chance to do what we do best: play tour guide and entertain. After spending the night in Great Harbor on Jost Van Dyke, we moved the boat around to White Bay, her port of registry in the BVI. This reef-protected bay is an extremely popular cruising destination with numerous bars and restaurants lining the white sand beach. The most notable of these bars is the Soggy Dollar, named for the state of the money that one would have in his/her pocket after swimming to shore. We tested this out and sure enough, both the cash and the credit card were wet when we arrived. They didn’t seem to mind though.
After a nice lunch and a walk on the beach to see One Love’s namesake bar, we cast off the mooring lines and moved around to the other end of Jost Van Dyke to anchor by Little Jost Van Dyke. Once the boat was secure, we wasted little time in getting the tender in the water so that we could make our way to shore. Our destination? The Bubbly Pool. I have written about this special spot on a couple of occasions and it’s well worth the visit, especially when there is a bit of north swell running as there was yesterday.
God, you guys do in one day what I can do in 3……lol……Your charter guests will love that itinerary. Great Job
Thanks, John. You’re being modest though. I know you do a fantastic job with your guests.
It sounds as though your trial run with your ‘test guests’ is going rather well. Just keep to the old chartering adage of move every day and you may be on a winner here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
🙂 🙂 🙂
Well done. Its good to see that you are enjoying yourselves too.
Mike
Charterers could learn that if you DON’T move everyday you can actually have more fun.
Looks like a great day. We’ve never been to the Bubbly Pools yet, but those Soggy Dollar pics sure do bring back some good memories. Love that area!
You definitely need to visit the Bubbly Pool the next time through.
You are one of my favorite islands of all time!
I assume you meant to type “you are ON one of my…”
And I agree, it is a very cool spot!
