Given that we still have our PDQ 32 for sale, I’d love nothing more than to share the entire article on the boat design that just appeared in Practical Sailor magazine (October 2015 issue). As it is though, the full article is only available to subscribers. If you’d seriously like to find out more about the boat than what you’ve read here, visit PS and subscribe!

In other news, guess what day it is? Arrrrh!

  1. Mike – Have you read the entire article? Why can’t you share it, copyright restrictions? Do US copyright restrictions actually apply in Grenada? They didn’t in Bahamas. Couldn’t you offer it on this page in either .pdf or .jpg format?

  2. The simple facts are that Practical Sailor accepts no advertising , and it cost several thousand dollars to produce such an article (photos, writing, editing, design), before print edition costs. The only way to recover the cost is subscriptions.

  3. Well, if it helps to sell your PDQ32, and its not against the law in Grenada – what’s the problem? Its your decision…..

    • If someone is serious about buying the boat and they want to do research, they’ll invest in the article/subscription. If they won’t invest the little bit of money in that, they either don’t care to read it, or they’re not serious buyers.

  4. Mike, I admire your stance.
Don Henley was on Charlie Rose talking about the negative effect of the digitization of intellectual property, “now your record is just an advertisement for your tour.”

    • I have written several articles for magazines and have been paid for that work. When permitted to do so by the magazine, I have shared the articles. At other times, I only shared the link.
