Although it’s been a while since I’ve written a post about hashing, Rebecca and I are still very much involved with the group here in Grenada. For those new to the blog, the Hash House Harriers is a running club of sorts, or is it a drinkers club? They bill themselves as “drinkers with a running problem” so I guess that sums it up best.

Some of the “supplies” that we ferried up to Carriacou for the hash.

Hashes take place every Saturday in Grenada, and in a few weeks they’ll be celebrating their 900th event on the island. Once per year they host the hash in Carriacou, the smaller island just north of mainland Grenada, and it’s always a fun time. It also takes place at the time of year when many cruisers are going a bit stir crazy, and are looking for a reason to go for a sail. We certainly fit into that category which is why we’ve made our way to Carriacou for the hash each year that we’ve been down here.

If you want to learn more about hashing, use the search feature on this blog. It is extremely popular around the world so don’t be surprised if you search your city name along with Hash House Harriers, you find a “kennel” in your area.

Until you complete your first hash, you are referred to as a Virgin. Don’t they look happy?

Now they are officially hashers!

  1. For all the running I have done, I have yet to ever join in a hash, and I am DYING to do so — it seems like so much fun! When we get to Grenada, that is a MUST!

    Always love following you guys.

    xx
