All clouds have silver linings.
The benefits of being “stuck” in Georgetown for Regatta.
Registration day. A dozen or more tables were set up where cruisers could put their names down for different events.
Zero to Cruising with Matt and Christie from s/v Kaleo.
Team “Zero 2 Chilln'” ready for the Poker Run.
Although our poker hand sucked, we should have won an award for team spirit.
We had to pick up cards to make our power hand from various bars across the harbor. You can imagine how that turned out!
“It’s not a race!” Yeah, right! This was the dinghy parade, before the poker run even started.
I love how random people pose for photos. 🙂
The weather threatened to cancel the opening-evening “meet and greet” sponsored by Scott and Rachel from Indiantown Marina. Free food and free booze prevailed!
Me with weather guru Chris Parker.
The rain passed and the party continued, until cruiser’s midnight (9:00 PM) that is.
My lovely dance partner.
Rebecca looks outstanding hot with the pigtail/army outfit!
Agree 100%!
THE RANDOM POSE WAS A HOOT, SHE’S OBVIOUSLY COMFORTABLE WITH HERSELF. I LOVE IT. AS FOR CHRIS PARKER, HE’S HOT, YOUNGER LOOKING THAN I IMAGINED. GREAT PHOTOS AND WE ARE SO HAPPY FOR YOU, YOU LOOK LIKE YOU ARE HAVING THE TIME OF YOUR LIVES, WHICH WAS THE IDEA. WE ARE ENJOYNG OURSELVES IN THIS ASSISTED LIVING MARINA, HAHA, WE’RE OLDER EH? ITS BETTER SUITED TO OUR ENERGY LEVEL. BUT WE SURE LOVE LIVING THROUGH YOUR BLOG. CHEERS.
LOL @ Assisted Living Marina. You two would love it here.
LOL! Love the picture of the older woman putting her two cheeks in! Looks like a great time and I love the outfits.
Everyone was having a blast.
I like the guy with the golden wig and “breastplate” – I was always amazed at al the “extra stuff” that folks carted along for the cruising life. I mean, yes, it is important to have fun, but…(maybe I need to work on my imagination?).
Are you two going to hang on for the “Family Regatta?”
Fair Winds,
Mike
Hi Mike
The guy with the gold hair and breastplate was Chris (weather guru) Parker. I suspect he may just have packed it in his luggage, after having advanced knowledge of the “gold” theme for the regatta.
Although we have heard that the family Regatta is awesome, we 100% will not be here for that.
You guys look so great together! It great to see all the fun your having……
Im here in Medellin Colombia now and I found this site where people (mostly backpackers ) traveling can transition from Panama to Colombia or visa versa. Anyway there are some great islands on the way called San Blas Islands (look them up on u-tube) I guess there 365 of them here.

If you get around panama and want to come this way south you might be able to work something out for a while taking people across from sapsurro to Puerto lindo (colombia to Panama) (5 days along the coast -4 spaces – $425 is what they charge per person)
If not it would be a great place to visit and see people who still live the same way they have for hundreds of years. I had called and talked to the captin of the odyssee and he speaks pretty good english and I was going to do this trip but ended up hurting my knee and it will have to wait. His number, if you want to talk to someone about this place in colombia is 312-379-9101
The website has some more contact numbers (it look a little out of date) Let me know if you have any questions….. Have fun Terry.
Hey Terry
Thanks for the tips. It will be quite some time before we get to Central America but I’ve bookmarked that sight just in case!
🙂
Great pics, as usual, and it looks as though everyone is having a good time! Sure beats northern Ohio or southern Canada right now!
Oh really? Why is that?
😉
I am slowly working my way through all your post since day one! But I feel compelled to give the lady in the above photo a salute for best photo bomb! BTW, your blog has thus far been extremely entertaining as well as educational! I have never commented before on a blog or really anything on line, but that photo really cracked me up, wicked funny!
I agree… it is hilarious, isn’t it?
