Go Dodgers!
No, not those Dodgers, I mean the boat variety (a dodger is basically a big windshield for a boat). Katana came with a custom, snap-in, zip-together isinglass dodger but it wasn’t until this past Sunday that we actually decided to install it. The fact that we were wearing gloves and a toque while sailing the day before was probably the motivator to do so! It took us only a few minutes to figure out how the 5 separate pieces fit together. It is amazing how warm and sheltered the cockpit is now.
Your dodger looks like a really good (and neat) fit. Incidentally, in the UK ‘dodgers’ fit on the guardwires either side of the cockpit. We call your dodger a sprayhood.
Perhaps I have no idea what I am talking about and they are actually called that everywhere?
🙂
The terminology depends on which side of the Atlantic you’re on. I first noticed the difference when looking at boats for sale on yachtworld when the pictures didn’t seem to match the descriptions! Confused the hell out of me until I realised what was going on!
