This morning, while checking the weather, as I do several times each day, I noted that Tropical Storm Earl had just been downgraded from a hurricane. If Caribbean geography is not your strong suit, you needn’t worry about us. After coming ashore in Belize, Earl continues to travel westward, and that is hundreds of miles from Grenada.

Note the timestamp on this image compared to the cover pic, and the fact that the storm’s icon is solid, indicating that it is classified as a hurricane, not a tropical storm.

I was reminded though about a previous storm, also named Earl, that threatened us during our initial trip south. While it too ended up staying far away from us, that storm did prompt us to strip our boat to ready it for any potential bad weather. Better safe than sorry, right? You can see some images from that preparation on this post.
