Heading back to the snow
It’s understandably been a tough couple of days for Rebecca and I on ZTC but the support we have been shown by the readers of this blog, both family and friends, and the few people that we have shared the news with here in Georgetown, has been overwhelming. We only hope that Rebecca‘s Dad is receiving similar support back home. With a bit of juggling, we have managed to arrange for Rebecca to return home to be with her family for the funeral this week. Once that was organized ,we both immediately started to feel a bit better about the situation. While she travels back to Ontario, I will remain here in Georgetown on ZTC and when she returns the following week, we will hopefully be almost prepared to venture on southward.
Mike, You guys do a great job with this blog and I appreciate it. It still
hurts me for Rebecca but GODS peace is always just right. We are Praying
for both of you. Thanks Again for this GREAT blog and our thoughts and prayers
are with you two. JC
Thank you very much, JC! The kind words are very much appreciated by both of us!
I was really hoping that the silence yesterday was because you were busy making plans for a trip back home for the funeral. I am so glad Rebecca can go home for this. I am making a small contribution via your pay pal to help pay for the trip. Blessings on you both through this very sad time and please accept my heartfelt condolences. S.
Thank you so much, Sandra. Booking flights without a telephone and/or a good internet connection is tricky. I am glad we were able to get it sorted out. Your contribution and kind thoughts are extremely appreciated!
Hi Rebecca and Michael,
only just caught up with you and so sorry to hear the news. It’s great Rebecca can get back to Canada although awful it’s for such a bad and sudden reason. Our thoughts are with you both and your family.
Thanks very much you two. I am also very happy that were able to arrange for her to return home.
I’m so glad Rebecca will be able to be with her family. I’m sure it will mean a lot. I wish you could both have gone, but at least she will be with her dad and the rest of the family, and with your daughter. Her mother sounds like a remarkable woman, which is no surprise, knowing her daughter, even just from here. All good wishes and thoughts to both of you.
Thank you Helen.
My own words would undoubtedly be inadequate, Mike. Perhaps, then, I will instead offer words of prayer, revealed by a far wiser man than I.
O my God! O Thou forgiver of sins, bestower of gifts, dispeller of afflictions!
Verily, I beseech Thee to forgive the sins of such as have abandoned the physical garment and have ascended to the spiritual world.
O my Lord! Purify them from trespasses, dispel their sorrows, and change their darkness into light. Cause them to enter the garden of happiness, cleanse them with the most pure water, and grant them to behold Thy splendours on the loftiest mount.
– ‘Abdu’l-Bahá
Thank you Matt.
