No longer short handed
I am happy to report that ZTC once again has her full compliment of crew. Rebecca made it back safely last evening, just in time for the Valentine’s Day festivities. And she came bearing gifts… lots of gifts!

welcome back rebecca!
Yes, welcome back!
The best gift was her own lovely self. Welcome home, Rebecca! We could tell Mike really missed you! Glad you are back.
I am definitely glad she is back!
ummm…. care to explain the ummm… big black thing in the middle?
😉
Welcome back & you spoil Mike, brining all those goodies & we see an extra “fan”
The extra fan now means we can both keep cool at the same time.
I see charts! DR, here they come!
Welcome back, Rebecca.
Fair Winds,
Mike
Hi Mike
Yes, the DR is almost within reach.
Yea ZTC….wow..egg container..very key…handheld depth sounder ..very key…Rebecca the key
Hope to see you soon ..we are having a blast tooling around Sampson ,Compass, Warderick,Blackpoint…
I hope you guys actually make it here before we leave.
Someone uses a LOT of sponges. You know, there is usually a bilge pump to take care of any water that gets inside. 😉
I will never forget the October our brand new washer failed to shut off the water once it was full. I was out with my two young daughters, shopping for a girls weekend in while my husband and son had gone hunting. When I walked through the door and saw the 3″ of water all over my fully finished and furnished basement, my first thought was – ‘I don’t own this many towels’! Fortunately, I didn’t need to. The insurance covered a restoration company to come and take care of it all.
Anyhow, that looks like a lot of great new stuff. I can’t tell what some of it is but it all looks interesting. The bright orange thing in the foreground with a black cord attached is intriguing.
I am happy you are back on your boat, Rebecca and am sure you are both happy to be back together.
Orange thing = hard drive
Black thing = portable depth sounder
Mike, could you let us know what all the stuff is she bought? Gives us an idea what you figured out you need and is obviously in short supply in exotic locations?
BTW: I am mostly a silent (daily) follower of your adventures and blog, but welcome back Rebecca, so very sorry about your loss. I am actually surprised to learn that you are back so soon actually.
Hi Etienne
Ask and you shall receive. 🙂
What perfect timing to be back just in time for a Valentine’s dance! Glad you’re back safe. I’m sure the egg crate is something we’ll need as I hear cardboard should be avoided. However, would be interested in learning what other items you realized you needed and bought. Great looking gifts …who needs chocolate? =)
Yes, cardboard is a no no. We discard of it all back on the dock before getting in the dinghy.
Do you use air scoops ( the sort of multi coloured terylene air Gizmo, scoop, you fit around the hatches and hang off the boom or rigging) and insect guards, as well as the fans?
We do not currently have any scoops. The truth is we have so many hatches that we normally have great airflow throughout the boat. We have tried one of the scoops though and they really do add to the breeze.
