Our own personal sail loft
Today was “taking-down-the-sails” day, along with a boat load (sorry for the pun) of other chores. We made sure to take a ton of pics as we disassembled stuff so that 6 months from now we can put it all back together again!
Taking down the small jib was relatively easy. Flaking it on the tramp was a tiny bit more challenging.
Flaking the Genoa at our gym was definitely easier.
It’s nice having the room to lay the sails out. It’s like having our own personal sail loft, minus the guys who actually know how to make and repair sails of course.
Speaking of repairing sails, here is the rip that we put in one of our two main sails. Apparently we were not supposed to tie the sail to the boom at those grommets? If not, why are they there? By the way, why is Rebecca smiling in that photo?
