Too cute!
Although it’s not the first time it has happened, that is, being called by name from by someone who knows us only from our blog, it is still always surprising to us. We were contacted recently by a man named John who lives in the New Smyrna area, offering us a place to tie up our boat and access to a car for any provisioning that we may need. Little did we know that we spent the night no more than 500 yards from his home! Just after pulling up anchor from our spot near Disappearing Island, we were approached by a power boat with a man and three little girls on it. The man, who we later determined was John, pointed out his house to us and let us know that the girls had brought us some cookies. Too cute! John has apparently done a fair amount of cruising himself and although it didn’t work out for us to get together last night, I’m sure he would have some great information and stories to share. Thanks again John… you made our day.
John and the girls heading back to his home (where the sailboat is in the background). This was literally only about 500 yards from where we were anchored.
Special delivery!
Some fisherman just off our bow casting for mullet (I think).
Red at night…
After the sun set the guitars came out to play.
Just another crappy day in paradise eh?
We suffer through them. 😉
I read some of your stories to the girls, they love to boat … They don’t care where, when or on what. They refer to our cruising friends as “boat people”, we know a few :)… They want to be boat people as well.
The come in different color dough, sort of like eatable play dough. One that they brought was a “underwater reef” … They love meeting new people and learning about their adventures … We are huge believers in expanding the “world” we live in.
That’s not the first time we have been referred to as “boat people.” I kind of like it. 🙂
Being boat people is all good! I’m so glad you are getting to enjoy your dream! It’s been great watching you and Rebecca find your boat and live your dream.
Wow – that is so cool! Kids already wanting to live a dream like yours. It’s really neat all the people cruising along with you via your blog! I know your writing makes my day brighter!
Have a good week . . .
Thank you!
Ringo,
where’s your Djembe?
LOL! I know! I had left the Djembe on the boat not knowing there was going to be a jam session. I was a little disappointed that I hadn’t brought it with me but I enjoyed sitting back listening to the guys play. Next time… Djembe will come out to play! 🙂
Carry in your pocket (if you have one 🙂 ) and never be without.
