Just because I haven’t written a lot about the weather as of late does not mean that it isn’t always “on our radar.” On the contrary, during H-season, Rebecca and I check the status and location of all tropical disturbances several times each day. Fortunately for us, we have thus far been spared any damaging bad weather. That is, of course, a primary reason why we’re held up here in Grenada after all; most storms do tend to track north of here.

Several of this year’s bigger storms, including Isaac which just passed north of us yesterday, have moved overtop of some of our favorite islands. Islands like St. Vincent and Dominica which, to our knowledge, have a total absence of safe anchorages for cruising boats in the event of weather like that. I’m not sure how they deal with it but they obviously do somehow.

We continue to send good vibes to our friends up island!

Even though the center of Isaac missed us by hundreds of miles, it has still resulted in a couple of days of squally weather for Grenada.

  1. I know Hurricanes are not a laughing matter, however, have you seen the picture where someone took a hurricane forcast map and replaced the swirl icon with pictures of Isaac from Love Boat!?!? hilarious You might be able to see it on my timeline.

  2. Love your page. Living in west Florida, I just found a great overload site for tropical weather info. http://www.spaghettimodels.com
