Yesterday, following one of our noon-hour classes (yes, we still work for a living) one of our newer students innocently asked what we planned to do for the next few hours. Because we didn’t have any classes scheduled for approximately 4 hours it is easy enough for people who only see us a few hours per week to think that we would have a nice long break. Sadly, and all too typically, the next hours were spent cleaning, fixing and organizing, leaving us sweaty and dirty with barely a 15 minute break before we were to resume teaching.

Perhaps I am mistaken but I tend to think that the average guy or gal would assume that cruisers do nothing but sail leisurely from place to place, snorkeling by day and drinking umbrella cocktails after sundown. We are definitely not so naive as to believe that. Although we expect some fun (there had better be at least some fun) we imagine the days will be filled much like ours are today, with a multitude of necessary, and not-so-fun tasks, which keep the whole show moving along.

Ah, belay all that. We’ll probably just while away our days frolicking in the surf. 🙂
